What’s Up With Your Local DJ?

The Seattle Rave Scene often gets a really bad reputation. Raves have become synonymous with drug culture, recklessness, hyper-sexuality and all sorts of negativity. This story is here to say that, yeah, the Seattle Rave Scene has all of that. But that there is more. Raves have a history that revolves around the concept of positivity, free love and open-mindedness. Their motto, “PLUR”, stands for, “Peace, Love, Unity & Respect.” This story is to show that while many people have taken over the scene and drowned it in drug use and made it a for-profit mess, the original people who came to the parties for love of the music, for love of the freedom and for love of each other are still there.

The original people pushing for peace, love, unity and respect are still there. And they’re just as irritated, angry and upset as anyone else.

This story is an attempt to expose the negativity and show how hard it is to find a place where everyone is there for the right reasons. This story is an attempt to show how hard it is to be a DJ these days. This story is an attempt to show that sometimes you have to fight for peace.
